The Technology Foundation BioMed Freiburg is the responsible body of the BioTechPark Freiburg. With the aim to create a basis for future-proof jobs it was founded as a union of scientific, economical and political interests.Furthermore, the Technology Foundation BioMed Freiburg functions as the central coordination unit of the BioRegion Freiburg, combining the biotechnological activities of the region.
The members of the Technology Foundation BioMed Freiburg are the City of Freiburg, the University of Freiburg, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Southern Upper Rhine, the Association of Industrial Enterprises Baden e.V., the Chamber of Handicrafts of Freiburg and the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau.
The Technology Foundation BioMed Freiburg is being assisted by a scientific advisory board, that decides about the admission of companies to the BioTechPark Freiburg.
The Technology Foundation BioMed Freiburg and the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau award the Freiburg innovation prize every two years. The prize is worth EUR 7,500 and is awarded to SMEs in the Freiburg economic region that have come up with a particular innovation and are able to demonstrate its marketability.
